In May the Local orchards of Much Marcle in Herefordshire celebrate the new season with the colourful Big Apple Blossom Weekend around the 4th and 5th May. During the Blossom Weekend Victoria Westaway’s willow sculptures were exhibited at the award winning Dragon Orchard near Putley Herefordshire. Her work included The Willow Wassailers, Giant Cider Apples, Willow Reader, Child Players and Dabinett the Ram!! Hope you enjoy these orchard sculptures.
In June the hidden village of Coddington near Ledbury opens its gardens to the public as part of the NGS Open Gardens Scheme. Local couple Meg and Brian Taylor invited Victoria Westaway to show her garden sculptures in and around this beautiful garden, with its generous mixed borders lavishly planted with shrubs, roses, perennials and bulbs. There is a pleasant walk through paddock which leads to a tranquil path through 5 acres of mature woodland. The garden has a wonderful wildlife pond and native flower patch and there are lovely views of the Malvern Hills.
Willow sculpture demonstration at The Wyche and Colwall Horticultural Society 70th Annual Flower Show taking place in the Colwall Village Hall. The Wyche and Colwall Horticultural Society evolved out of local support for The Wyche and Upper Colwall Home and Garden Show which was originally held in 1942. Each Autumn the Percy Picton Memorial Lecture is given by a notable personality in the gardening world. The Percy Picton Memorial Fund is a registered charity, initiatted by the society as a tribute to the work of their late president and gives financial support to local students.
Willow Sculptor Victoria Wesataway was invited to display her willow sculptures amongst the Plant Heritage National Collection of Autumn Flowering Asters in The Picton Garden held at the Old Court Nurseries in Colwall near Malvern. The garden is open from August until mid October including many days for the National Gardens Scheme. Please check the Old Court Nurseries website, the NGS Yellow Book etc. or phone the nursery for opening dates and times. The garden has been featured in many magazines and newspapers and has been on several television programmes.
