Wire artist Victoria Westaway previewed her new wire abstract sculptures titled, 'Wire Fritillaria Forms' (see gallery below) during the Private View at the Newland Garden Summer Exhibition in Sherborne, Dorset. Victoria exhibited her Willow Sculptures and Wire Sculptures alongside the fabulous work of local artists, Plaxy Arthur, Richard Turner, Miranda Halsby & Julian Halsby.
The Newland Gallery makes a wonderful arts venue with ample gallery space and a magnificent hidden garden that provides the perfect setting to exhibit Victoria's willow and wire sculptures. Situated close to the historic town centre of Sherborne Newland Gallery exists within what was once a medieval building dating back to the 13th century. Miranda & Julian Halsby both renowned artists run two shows a year for this unique prestigious venue.
As well as running the Summer Arts Exhibition Miranda & Julian Halsby are joining the Hidden Gardens of Sherborne event. The Hidden Gardens of Sherborne has become part of Sherborne’s annual calendar, and the Rotary Club of Sherborne Castles hold the event every year. This year will see some amazing new gardens to visit and of course many old favourites.

Sherborne In Bloom say, "Sherborne has many town houses that have no front gardens, but when you get round the back some beautiful (if sometimes unexpected) sights can meet the eye". This is definately an event to put in the calender, one not to be missed . Victoria hopes to be invited to exhibit her Garden Sculptures within the Hidden Gardens of Sherborne again next year.
Hidden Gardens of Sherborne 6th and 7th June 2015, 2pm – 5pm. Weekend tickets available at £8.00 at Castle Gardens or the Tourist Information Centre. Individual garden entry donations on the day £1.00 donation.
