Christmas in Paignton

Christmas in Paignton Light FestivalVik worked with freelancer colleague Kate Linden as part of Christmas in Paignton event. With support from the local Torbay Rd traders association.

This free family festival worked with a range of organisations including Doorstep arts, Riviera Fm and local groups to bring the town of Paignton together to experience performing and visual arts workshops, crafts, performance and theatrical spectacle. Vik and Kate worked with local schools to create giant jelly fish lanterns and the 2018 seahorse lantern made another appearance as lead lantern swimming over ‘waves of blue fabric and fairy lights.

The festival saw large numbers attend the event that paraded to the palace theatre gardens where the Moonscape lanterns made a repeat appearance inviting everyone to take playful photos interacting with the giant moons.

The all day event proved a great success, we created a spectacle for the parade which worked with the town centre logistics and to a very tight budget. It was wonderful to work alongside our freelancer colleagues to help bring a festive community spirit to Paignton town centre.
