Showborough House Sculpture Garden - May/June 2014

Affordable Art at Showborough House Sculpture Garden GloustershireShowborough House opens its garden every spring to host the Affordable Garden Art Competition and Exhibition. This year willow and wire sculptor Victoria Westaway will be exhibiting her latest willow sculptures and will be including some new wire sculpture pieces. A wide variety of good but affordable sculpture, mostly by local sculptors, can be seen in the natural setting of the one and a half acre garden, which has been renovated over the last ten years.

There are works in different sizes, styles and media, including wood, metal, stone, glass, ceramic and resin. Showborough is an informal venue, where visitors are encouraged to enjoy the exhibits and the garden at their own pace, and perhaps to sit and relax with a cup of tea or coffee.   Exhibits are for sale and because Showborough House is a non-profit venture any purchases provide maximum support to the artists. In addition there is a small indoor exhibition of paintings by invited local artists.

Showborough lies in the Vale, between the Cotswolds and the Malverns. It is just outside the riverside village of Twyning, between Tewkesbury and Pershore, less than ten minutes drive from the A38, M5 or M50.

This year Showborough is open from Thursday 1st May until Sunday 15th June, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays, Opening hours 10:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.. Group visits can be arranged at other times. There is no entry charge but donations are welcome.
