Charingworth Court combines NGS open garden with an annual Sculpture Exhibition now in its eighth year. The owners Susan & Richard Wakeford have invited Devon artist Vik Westaway to exhibit several of her woven garden sculptures during this years show that coincides with the Winchcombe Festival of Music and Arts.
The house (not open) is part Tudor (1650) and part Georgian (early 1800s) and has seen much redesigning and rebuilding by several names over the centuries. There are many mature trees around the garden but most of the planting and landscaping has been done by the present owners since 1996, creating the perfect environment to showcase some amazing sculptures.
The garden gives us huge pleasure and helps keep us fit and healthy – without doubt it is one of our greatest pleasures in life and we feel priviledged to look after it - Susan & Richard Wakeford
